Who is welcome?

Come as you are!

I truly believe in making counselling accessible and inclusive to all those who seek it.  This is a welcoming space for you, whatever your identities or story.  Sadly, the social realities of our world may mean that you have not always felt heard or seen by helping professionals.

I am very happy and honoured to have trained as an intercultural counsellor who practices cultural humility. This means that you can expect I will check out with you how you experience my identities in the room (I'm a white cis-gender female who speaks English). I really want to know from you:

What am I not getting?

How about my blind spots?

What's being missed here?

Sandplay and play-based creative working in particular can be effective for those whom talking therapies disregard. It encompasses a whole lifespan approach, meeting effectively 'the whole person' : the very young, to the elderly. The parts that cannot be put into words so well.

Here, you make sense and you are believed.

We attend to all parts of you with care: appreciating the innate wisdom of the inner child, right up to the wisdom of the inner elder.

This hears the story that has not been told yet.

What does identity mean to you?

When we meet our histories meet. Shamed identities are welcome here.

My experience working cross-culturally helps me offer affirmative, adaptive practice (learning from you!) with clients who are neurodivergent, live with learning disabilities, are questioning their gender, relationships or sexuality, wish to bring in elements of religious or spiritual practice, amongst others areas. Really the list is infinite.
